Switched Things Up

We switched things up on the bus last night. It was great. The plan was to go to a skate park in North Tulsa. However, it looked to be abandoned. We ended up finding a few parks in the Tulsa area. The first stop was incredible. There were lots of kids outside playing as well as adults. We met two brothers sitting at the park (Ryan 33, Avery 34). They are homeless. Ryan works fulltime at a local temp service. He has been working on the same job for 2 years. They have had a very crazy life. They were put into foster care @ five and six years old. They have had a hard life. They were in and out of the juvenile justice system as teenagers. They bounced around from foster house to house. They now drink straight vodka at night. They both were brutally honest about their life. They like to stick to themselves. They do not trust people. This is understandable. Theyhave been hurt by people. They have been through so much. We were able to spend lots of time with them. We were able to share the gospel with them. They both are agnostic.  Despite their troubled upbringing they both are very intelligent. We explained that we would like to build a relationship with them. We want to take them out to their favorite restaurant. They do not have a favorite restaurant. Matter of fact they have never been exposed to different type of cuisines. They requested  a place with  biscuits and gravy. We will make it happen. The Lord will workout the details.

Next, we ended up in a parking lot by a local church. There were lots of kids there finishing up their sports practices. We were able to minister to the parents as well as the children. One of the parents actually knew one of our servants. He was agnostic as well.  It was an incredible time of conversation. They were so thankful for the pizza.  Please pray for all of these people mentioned above. Please pray, especially for Ryan and his brother Avery.  The Lord can do the miraculous. HE reigns! Count your blessings! Be thankful!
